Just like a pill

After a year of trying to make a baby, my husband and I went in to the OB/GYN to report our failure. It was finally time for me to get some help with my PCOS ovaries. I would try 3-4 rounds of these meds and if that failed then we would be referred to a specialist.
I was prescribed two meds. First I had to take two Metformin every day to help keep my periods regular. Metformin is typically a drug for diabetes. I have blood sugar on the lower side but I do struggle with the insolence resistance fo PCOS. Metformin makes me very thirsty and very low energy if I don't eat enough.

I also had to take Letrozole. I would take this 5 days every months on cycle days 3-7 to kick start ovulation. Letrozole is normally a drug for Breast Cancer patients but works better than Clomid for PCOS patients needing to ovulate. Letrozole hasn't had many side effects but it does give me wicked hot flashes on the days that I take them.

After my first cycle, I went and got my blood tested for progesterone to confirm that it helped me ovulate. I was so, so, so hopeful and excited when the doctor told me that it looked like I had. I was sure this was it! The meds worked and that's all I needed!
Unfortunately that round was negative, so were the next two. COVID 19 put me on a hold but now I'm almost done with my fourth cycle with Metformin and Letrozle, this time I couldn't even get a positive LH ovulation tests so I'm not holding my breath.
