IUI #2 : The IUI Returns

So our last IUI ended with happiness and then disappointment. I unfortunately had a

chemical pregnancy. This means I was pregnant, got a positive pregnancy test, but had a miscarriage so early that I didn't make it to even 5 weeks. While this was once again devastating, #1 now we know this protocol works because I did indeed, get pregnant, & #2 at least we could just right into IUI 2 so it was was easy to just move forward to try again. I was very sad but was able to move on and look towards the next round.

Because that level of clomid worked, we repeated the protocol and this time it

produced 2 good follicles on both sides so 4 EGGS! At first the nurses were concerned because the two bigger follicles were on my left side which is tubeless. I left thinking that this cycle was canceled and we'd try again next month. The nurse said they wouldn't want me to waste my money on an IUI with a small chance. That afternoon I got a call from the clinic telling me that the doctor wants to go ahead! I guess not only did she think the right ovary follicles were big enough but I guess my right tube can pick up follicles from the left? learn something new every day! So not only did we have a chance now but FOUR chances. So we triggered that night at midnight. Because

my husband works nights, he got to give me a shot for the first time, it was nice to involve him in the process like that.

Our IUI was scheduled 36 hours later. My husband's sperm count was once again amazing, 77.5 Million count and 98% motility. Basically, he's a rockstar and I'm the broken one....but I know that the better he is, the better our chances are. The nurse once again had a hard time finding my cervix which was once again super awkward. I guess it's all the way to the left side so not the first place you'd look.

Our chances are good, we've had a lot of good omens lately and we get to test on our wedding anniversary. Here's hoping!
