Clearing My Mind In The Mountains

I have been cooped up in my house since March 12th (bleh 4 months now) when schools went to remote learning because of COVID 19. Add to that struggling with anxiety, depression, infertility and an ectopic pregnancy. I was spending too much time inside my own brain.

My husband and I finally got out this weekend. We wanted to get away but still social distance so we rented a cabin in the Smokey Mountains to relax and recharge.

Did I think about making a baby and the upcoming school year? Of course I did, I can't help it, but I was able to relax and enjoy what was around me and what I did have, like an amazing husband and two good doggos. Being somewhere other than my house was wonderful as well, the change of scenery was just what I needed.

The BEST part of the whole trip was the cabin being next to the Tuckaseegee River. We both brought tube and floated down the river like our own private lazy river. I was able to clear my head and enjoy the beauty around me. Sometimes all you need is to get away and get some perspective. We will carry on and have a fun, beautiful life no matter what the future has in store for us.
